As a volunteer on the Women’s Education project in Kerala, you will work closely with local leaders on initiatives that support and empower women and girls in the Kochi area to develop their independence, build their confidence, foster entrepreneurship skills, and grow their leadership capacity.

The women and girls involved in the project develop their confidence and improve their ability to get jobs and secure a better future for themselves.

You are not required to have any previous experience to join this project, however some knowledge in education, health and financial planning is beneficial.

Kochi is a safe and welcoming city and volunteers can enjoy an abundance of activities in the surrounding areas, including visiting the hillside tea region of Munnar, cruising the backwaters, or staying in surf and yoga retreats on the coast.

This program is perfect for volunteers who want to experience the rich culture of India, but at a slower pace than you would expect in Delhi.

Women in India face a wide range of social inequalities and many women do not have opportunities to complete their education or enter the workforce because of an early marriage and a very conservative family environment.
